You attract the interest of others when you are savvy and articulate in communicating what you do, who you do it for and the benefit you provide. This is invaluable when introducing yourself to prospective customers, potential employers or at networking events. It can be a challenge to construct an impressive elevator speech, but here’s a simple 4 step framework that really works!
- Who do you help? Be specific to identify your ideal audience and the challenge you help them address. For example:
- I help struggling small business owners
- I advise novice investors who are losing money
- I coach people who are unhappy with their jobs
- How/What do you do to help them? What is your special talent? For example:
- create a strategic plan
- make better choices within their portfolios
- find positions that match their strengths
- So what? What is the benefit that you provide? How is their life\business better because of you? For example:
- so they stay focused, get more customers and boost their profits.
- so they make their money work for them letting them do the things they love.
- so they become fulfilled and have a better quality of life.
4. Put it all together like this:
- I help struggling small business owners create a strategic plan so they stay focused, get more customers and boost their profits.
- I advise novice investors who are losing money make better choices within their portfolios so they make their money work for them letting them do the things they love.
- I coach people who are unhappy with their jobs find positions that match their strengths so they become fulfilled and have a better quality of life.
